FAQ
Q: What are the limitations of flying a non-certified aircraft?
A: Homebuilding regulations vary from country to country. There are a few limitations, the most notable being no IFR flying and no fly-for-hire.
You CAN fly across Europe in them, as just about every European country has signed an agreement to accept each others homebuilt aircraft.
Q: Is it legal?
A: Yes, completely. No bending of rules here.
Q: How about insurance?
A: Insurance will be the same as a factory-built aircraft.
Q: How about running the plane on car gas?
A: If your engine can run on mogas (car gas), then no problem. Again, a total absence of paperwork.
Q: Who can do the maintenance?
A: One more cool thing about owning a kit plane: It’s affordable. You can have your own shop do the maintenance, do it yourself, or let us do it for you,
at significantly lower hourly rates than a certified shop does. We do not have to go through the same tons of paperwork that a certified shop needs to.
Getting you Cessna through its annual will easily start the counter at 1000 euro for paperwork alone. Not here.
